SPORT RELIEF 2018
17th - 23rd March
Children in Need 2017
At Joseph Turner Primary, we support many charities. On 17th November, we supported Children in Need by raising much needed funds for less fortunate children. We had a dress up in 'spotty' clothes day, a 'guess the amount of £2 coins in the Pudsey money box' (kindly donated by Mrs Poxon, the Chair of Governors) and we also raffled off a chocolate hamper to the children. All of the chocolate was kindly donated by the generous staff at Joseph Turner Primary.
Harry Hood won our chocolate raffle (number 29) - well done!
Lydia Bates won our 'Guess the amount in Pudsey' competition. She guessed £358. Lydia got within £4, as there was a whopping £362 inside the money box, and was the closest. She won the special Pudsey teddy!
Total amount raised for Children In Need 2017 was £783.42.
Sale of merchandise = £337.50
Dress Up Day (Wear Spots) = £340.32
Guess the amount in Pudsey Bear = £40.40
Chocolate Hamper Raffle = £65.20
500 mile charity walk on 26th May 2017
Pupils and staff walked 500 miles for charity on the 26th May 2017. We raised a grand total of £2,330.50p for the 2 charities as chosen by the School Pupil Council. They were Birmingham Children's Hospital and The Dog's Trust. Each charity had an equal share of £1,165.25p.
Well done to everyone involved.
Birmingham Children's Hospital have sent the following thank you letter and explained where the money will be spent.

Congratulations to everyone involved with raising money for Children in Need 2016. We raised a total of £752.24 from dressing up in spots; the sale of pudsey bear ears and wristbands, and a raffle for extra pudsey surprises.
Children in Need will shortly be receiving a cheque from the school for the total amount.
Well done everyone!
