World of Work Week

28th March 2011 - 1st April 2011

It has been an exciting week at Jospeh Turner Priamry School this week. We have been learning all about the World of Work. Our children have had a range of visitors throughout the week, including, firefighters, photographers, ASDA Community Champions, a gas fitter, a police lady and many more. The children have had the oppurtunity to attend workshops and question the people from different jobs to prepare them for what job they may want in the future.

At the end of the week, as a celebration, the children came to school dressed in the clothes they would wear for a job that may wish to have in the furture.

Frank Chapman Visit

20th March 2011 - 25th March 2011

This week the children, some children in Year Four and Five had the oppurtnity to visit the Frank Chapman Centre. They had a fantastic week learning all about the wildlife and nature in a brilliant environment. The children had the oppurtunity to explore the Centres wonderful forest, spotting a range of different wildlife including Deer. They created journey sticks based on a walk in the forest and collected wild flowers to create bookmarks which they will be able to keep as a reminder of their experience.

The children were extremely well behaved and a credit to the school.
