November 2017

What a whirl wind start to the new academic year! We have had a change in our Senior leadership team with Mr Hill moving up to Deputy Headteacher  and Mr Yalluri moving up to become our new Assistant Headteacher. Mrs Collins will be back from maternity leave at the beginning of December; we will be back to having a brilliant team.

There are also some new, fresh faces joining our excellent team of teaching staff.  I know they are in the right place to build upon and develop their pedagogy.  These new teachers will join the already existing team of fantastic staff who support our wonderful children. We have two new governors on the Governing body too. I'm sure they will endeavor to carry on and enhance the great work that the governors do. Thank you all who voted for them.

We will carry on trying to make this school a great school and support our staff as always. I was overjoyed to hear that we had received The Sandwell Charter Mark for Well-being. Joseph Turner Primary really is a great place to be.

Christmas is on the horizon; it’s this fun time of year where community, family and values really come close together at this special time of year - I love it. The concerts, parties, trips and celebrations that the children participate in really enhance their understanding and enjoyment of the curriculum. Please parents try and come into school and support your children in the concerts and look at their achievements; we are all very proud of them.

I will be in and around school over the next few weeks so remember, all the governors are approachable and would love to hear your views on anything to do with Joseph Turner Primary.

May I on behalf of all the governors, wish you a wonderful Christmas, a Happy New Year and a good holiday

See you in 2018

Mrs Janet Poxon

Chair of Governors.
