Physical Education

All schools within England have been lucky enough to be provided with Sports Premium funding from the Government, to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sports within schools.  At Joseph Turner Primary school, we believe that PE and sports should be fun, inclusive and engaging.  We are also aware that the development of PE and sports within school should be sustainable.   It is for this reason that we have plans to spend the Sports Premium funding on the introduction of new sports within school, new equipment for existing sports and professional coaching for the children and staff.  We hope that by spending the money in this way the impact will be:

  • Increased opportunity for all of our pupils to access a wider variety of PE and sports.
  • Opportunities to develop the competitive element of sports and the skill of sportsmanship.
  • Develop pupil understanding of the importance of keeping fit and healthy.
  • Increased participation in PE and sport activities.
