A final note from the Chair of Governors for this academic year

Well another year almost over, we have seen lots of changes, new Year 6 classrooms, which are fantastic and the children seem very happy in them. The SLT were pleased with how the children tackled their SATs and felt they worked very hard, so let’s hope the new classrooms played a part.

Changes in the playground - Thanks to the Pupil Governors for putting forward what the children have asked for. The climbing frame in KS1 and the game zones make for a happy playtime .The staff are saying they have noticed the difference. If you haven’t seen them please go and have a look, you know we will always encourage parents’ involvement in school.

Talking of which, the Governing Body is still a parent governor short if anybody is interested, look on the website for details. It is an amazing experience in seeing how the motors of the school keep turning and seeing the children grow in confidence, and how they continue to develop, achieve and succeed throughout the school.

Various trips have taken place this year, all of which had very good comments. We, as a school, are very proud to take our children out on visits - they are always perfectly behaved and set a great example for the school.

Good luck to Year 6 on your journey to your new schools .Please don’t forget what you have learnt at Joseph Turner. Remember our school motto: Eager to learn, proud to achieve.

Have a good holiday everybody. Look forward to seeing you all in the new academic year.
