Vocabulary development is central to the teaching of Writing here at Joseph Turner Primary School. Pupils are explicitly taught ambitious vocabulary through high-quality texts, discussion and purposeful writing opportunities. This approach is informed by research and national guidance which emphasise the importance of explicit vocabulary instruction in supporting high-quality writing.
