Autumn 1
Our Year 2 children have settled in really well and are already enjoying being back at school! They’ve had lots of fun with “getting to know you” games and are quickly picking up the new routines. It’s been lovely to see so many smiles as they make new friends, explore new learning and get stuck into Year 2 life.
In Science, our Year 2 children have been learning all about habitats. They had a fantastic time exploring the woodland area to see what creatures live there. The children discovered worms, woodlice and spiders hiding under logs and leaves, and loved seeing how these animals make their homes in the woodland habitat. It was a great hands-on way to bring their learning to life!
In Computing, our Year 2 children have been busy using ScratchJr to create their very own space games! They learned how to build algorithms to make their characters move, jump and zoom through space. Some even tried parallel programming, getting multiple sprites to work together at the same time. The children loved experimenting with their ideas and are so proud to showcase their amazing work!
We had an amazing visit from MC Grammar this week! The children were so excited to meet him and loved singing along with him and learning at the same time. The hall was full of energy, laughter and music as everyone joined in with the actions and lyrics.
