Welcome back after the Christmas break!

As a welcome back after half term, the children enjoyed watching a pantomime performance based on the classic story of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. Following this, we recapped the school expectations and began discussions focusing on the future and setting themselves goals to to achieve in the new year. By the end of the week, children were enjoying their new topic of the Ancient Greeks,  getting stuck into their new focus text of 'Who Let the Gods Out'.

Our Greek Day!

Year 5 had a fantastic Greek Day with the expert facilitator Damian leading the way. Damian brought the Ancient Greeks to life with his amazing stories and endless insight. We explored some interesting artefacts, from the replicas of the different types of vases, to the weapons used in battle. The whole year group loved playing Ancient Greek games of speed and knowledge. Pupils particularly enjoyed learning about the legends, myths and gods. By the end of the day, we all felt like mini experts ourselves!
