Pupil Governors

In October, every child in Joseph Turner Primary had the opportunity to take part in the election process of the new, School Pupil Governors. In classes, the children studied the election process, how an election is fairly run and the skills needed to be an effective pupil governor. 

 

Every pupil had the chance to write a speech and put themselves forward as a candidate. Mr Hill put on different assemblies that looked at the skills of a pupil governor and how pupil governors have supported the school in the past. The children wrote speeches, put forward their manifestos and drummed up support in their year groups.

 

On Wednesday 18th October, the school voted and elected their new school governors - 1 boy and 1 girl from each year group! The voting was very close, but the Pupil Governors were elected! Here they are below:
