Academic Year 2015/2016

Academic Year 2015/16

We have received a total of £9,567 in PE and Sport Grant. We have used this money to improve PE quality and breadth of PE and sport in the school.

This year we have used the funding to:

  • Purchase high quality resources for the teachers to use in PE lessons.
  • Purchase specific athletics resources to support the delivery of Sports Day for the whole school.
  • Provide staff training from outside agencies for specific sports to enable high quality teaching and learning of PE.
  • Procure high quality coaches to demonstrate how to teach PE lessons that will engage children.
  • Provide staff training on how to teach PE well through employing qualified coaches to work alongside teachers (team teaching) in lessons to increase their subject knowledge and confidence in PE.
  • Forge links with local secondary PE specialist teachers to support staff in the delivery of high quality PE.
  • Provide support and training for the lunch time supervisors so that physically active and engaging games can be introduced.
  • Provide support for the teaching staff to ensure that play times are fully utilised to provide physically active play and games.
  • Develop inter-school competition between local school to promote and increase participation levels.
