Our Learning

During our Autumn Terms in Badgers and Foxes, we have been doing loads of learning!

We have learnt lots of maths skills, including addition, subtraction and solving problems using a range of equipment.

In our reading lessons we have explored and investigated texts; Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers and Rainbow Bear by Michael Morpurgo.  Our retrieval and inferences have grown immensely, not to mention our range of vocabulary!

Our Spring Term learning unit is 'Fighting Fit'. We are learning about animals, their habitats and how they are are suited to their homes.  Also where different plants and animals fit into food chains, recognising producers, consumers and predators. We are learning to use loads of new vocabulary, such as, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore.

As part of our Science learning journey we were visited by WILD Zoological Society, who introduced us to a skunk, tarantula, macaw, boa constrictor, bearded dragon and binturong.

We have been developing our maths skills, including using money, shape work and multiplication of the 5 times table.

Our reading has been fascinating, linking to our English learning journey to find out about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole as significant nurses and their impacts. We've discovered the hard work, kindness and determination that these two remarkable women showed in difficult situations.
