As part of the National Curriculum, Joseph Turner take years 4, 5 and 6 for weekly swimming lessons at Tipton Leisure Centre. Each swimming lesson lasts 30 minutes.
Year 5 attend lessons during the Autumn term.
The DFE have requested that schools publish how many pupils within year 6 are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently including:
Swimming competently and proficiently over a distance of 25 metres.
Using a range of strokes effectively.
Performing safe self-rescue in different water based situations.
